In March 2008 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Girl with Pan by Charles Webster Hawthorne. The »bidding war« ended at USD 27,400.00 (€ 17,336.29), 52% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Webster Hawthorne achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portuguese Fisherboy in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 298,000.00 (€ 271,056.94).

Im März 2008 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Girl with Pan von Charles Webster Hawthorne zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 27.400,00 (€ 17.336,29) und damit 52% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Webster Hawthorne erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portuguese Fisherboy im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 298.000,00 (€ 271.056,94).
