Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Grapes, peaches, redcurrants, and a butterfly, on a mossy bank by Charles Thomas Bale was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2002, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,175.00 (€ 1,839.99). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Thomas Bale - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Pineapples, Grapes, Plums and Pears on a Silver Tray with a Jar on a Draped Wooden Ledge, which sold at auction in February 2003 for USD 7,170.00 (€ 6,651.82).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Grapes, peaches, redcurrants, and a butterfly, on a mossy bank von Charles Thomas Bale im November 2002 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.175,00 (€ 1.839,99) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Thomas Bale mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Pineapples, Grapes, Plums and Pears on a Silver Tray with a Jar on a Draped Wooden Ledge beobachtet, die im Februar 2003 für USD 7.170,00 (€ 6.651,82) versteigert wurde.
