Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work Farm Buildings, Connecticut by Charles Sheeler for USD 315,000.00 (€ 258,323.77). This price was achieved in the auction American Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 500,000.00 – 700,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Charles Sheeler have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work White Sentinels in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 2,232,500.00 (€ 1,913,024.85).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai 2021 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Farm Buildings, Connecticut von Charles Sheeler für USD 315.000,00 (€ 258.323,77) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion American Art bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 500.000,00 – 700.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Sheeler auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit White Sentinels im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.232.500,00 (€ 1.913.024,85).
