The work The Waterfall by Charles Sheeler was sold in the Modern American Art auction at Christies in New York in April this year. It achieved a price of USD 21,420.00 (€ 19,402.17), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 43%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Sheeler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work White Sentinels in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 2,232,500.00 (€ 1,913,024.85).

Die Arbeit The Waterfall von Charles Sheeler wurde im April diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern American Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 21.420,00 (€ 19.402,17) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 43%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Sheeler erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit White Sentinels im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.232.500,00 (€ 1.913.024,85).
