Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Interior by Charles Sheeler was auctioned at Christies in New York in April this year. The price achieved of USD 567,000.00 (€ 513,586.96) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 500,000.00 – 700,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Sheeler - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work White Sentinels, which sold at auction in May 2018 for USD 2,232,500.00 (€ 1,913,024.85).

Die Arbeit Interior von Charles Sheeler kam im April diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 567.000,00 (€ 513.586,96) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 500.000,00 – 700.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Sheeler mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit White Sentinels beobachtet, die im Mai 2018 für USD 2.232.500,00 (€ 1.913.024,85) versteigert wurde.
