Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%

This artwork by Charles Sandison achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in London in March 2009. In the Saturday@Phillips auction, the work Reading Glass sold for GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,313.40) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Charles Sandison have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mille neuf cent onze in October 2017 with an auction result of EUR 22,500.00.

Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen

Dieses Kunstwerk von Charles Sandison erzielte im März 2009 bei Phillips in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Saturday@Phillips wurde die Arbeit Reading Glass für GBP 4.000,00 (€ 4.313,40) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Sandison auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mille neuf cent onze im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 22.500,00.
