In June 2005 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art Including Ottomans & Orientalists, which included the work The Shoes of The Faithful; And Commercial Activity by Charles Robertson. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,120.00 (€ 4,624.04), 56% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Robertson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Carpet Seller, Cairo in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 663,000.00 (€ 769,032.45).
