Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2012 a collector was able to acquire the work Sophia Stert, in white dress with white bandeau in her powdered hair worn loose; Windor Castle in the distance by Charles Robertson for GBP 625.00 (€ 778.72). This price was achieved in the auction Centuries of Style: Silver, European Ceramics, Portrait Miniatures and Gold Boxes at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 700.00 – 900.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Robertson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Carpet Seller, Cairo in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 663,000.00 (€ 769,032.45).
