Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2005 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art Including Ottomans & Orientalists, which included the work Flower Market In Damascus by Charles Robertson. It changed hands for a price of GBP 16,800.00 (€ 24,898.66) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Robertson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Carpet Seller, Cairo in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 663,000.00 (€ 769,032.45).

Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 16.800,00 (€ 24.898,66) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Robertson erzielen.
