Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2005 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art Including Ottomans & Orientalists, which included the work The Carpet Seller by Charles Robertson. The price achieved of GBP 1,200.00 (€ 1,778.48) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Robertson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Carpet Seller, Cairo in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 663,000.00 (€ 769,032.45).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion 19th Century European Art Including Ottomans & Orientalists durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Carpet Seller von Charles Robertson zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.200,00 (€ 1.778,48) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Robertson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Carpet Seller, Cairo im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 663.000,00 (€ 769.032,45).
