Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2002 Christies in London held the auction Important Gold Boxes, Objects of Vertu and Portrait, which included the work A young lady, facing right in blue-bordered white dress with blue sash, lace-bordered white underdress, her sleeves adorned with pearls, pearls in her long brown curling hair by Charles Robertson. The price achieved of GBP 2,629.00 (€ 4,035.65) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Robertson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Carpet Seller, Cairo in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 663,000.00 (€ 769,032.45).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion Important Gold Boxes, Objects of Vertu and Portrait durch, in der auch die Arbeit A young lady, facing right in blue-bordered white dress with blue sash, lace-bordered white underdress, her sleeves adorned with pearls, pearls in her long brown curling hair von Charles Robertson zur Versteigerung kam.
