Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In August 2020 Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction California and Western Art, which included the work From Hill to Hill (near the Sutherland Dam) by Charles Reiffel. Here, the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 20,075.00 (€ 16,818.87). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Reiffel - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Apple Barn, which sold at auction in August 2018 for USD 72,500.00 (€ 62,521.56).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im August 2020 führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion California and Western Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit From Hill to Hill (near the Sutherland Dam) von Charles Reiffel zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 20.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 20.075,00 (€ 16.818,87) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Reiffel mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Apple Barn beobachtet, die im August 2018 für USD 72.500,00 (€ 62.521,56) versteigert wurde.
