Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Charles Reiffel could be acquired at Bonhams in Los Angeles in November last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the California Art auction, the work Coastal Scene changed hands for USD 14,025.00 (€ 13,586.17) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Admittedly, works by Charles Reiffel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Apple Barn in August 2018 with an auction result of USD 72,500.00 (€ 62,521.56).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Charles Reiffel konnte im November letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion California Art wechselte die Arbeit Coastal Scene für USD 14.025,00 (€ 13.586,17) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Reiffel auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Apple Barn im August 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 72.500,00 (€ 62.521,56).
