In July 2008 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art including Orientalist and Spanish Art, which included the work The odalisque by Charles-Louis Müller. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 58,850.00 (€ 74,769.59), 47% above the upper estimate. Other works by Charles-Louis Müller have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 69,300.00 (€ 82,162.95) in March last year for the work Sultana Reading the Holy Qur'an.
