Sold at the lower estimate price
In January 2012 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master & 19th Century European Art, Including Property from The Forbes Collection: The Panorama of Champigny, which included the work The Betrothed by Charles-Louis Müller. The result of USD 10,000.00 (€ 7,661.07) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles-Louis Müller achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sultana Reading the Holy Qur'an in March last year with an auction result of GBP 69,300.00 (€ 82,162.95).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Januar 2012 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master & 19th Century European Art, Including Property from The Forbes Collection: The Panorama of Champigny durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Betrothed von Charles-Louis Müller zur Versteigerung kam.
