Sold at the lower estimate price
In July 2015 Christies in London held the auction Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours, which included the work The Arch of Titus, Rome; and The Forum of Nerva, Rome by Charles-Louis Clérisseau. The result of GBP 20,000.00 (€ 28,353.28) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles-Louis Clérisseau - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Interiors of a Roman basilica with figures, which sold at auction in December 2010 for GBP 51,650.00 (€ 59,913.84).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Juli 2015 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Arch of Titus, Rome; and The Forum of Nerva, Rome von Charles-Louis Clérisseau zur Versteigerung kam.
