Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In January 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work Roman Ruins With Oriental Staffage by Charles-Louis Clérisseau. Here, the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 32,500.00 (€ 28,374.37). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles-Louis Clérisseau - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Interiors of a Roman basilica with figures, which sold at auction in December 2010 for GBP 51,650.00 (€ 59,913.84).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Januar 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Roman Ruins With Oriental Staffage von Charles-Louis Clérisseau zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 30.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 32.500,00 (€ 28.374,37) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles-Louis Clérisseau mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Interiors of a Roman basilica with figures beobachtet, die im Dezember 2010 für GBP 51.650,00 (€ 59.913,84) versteigert wurde.
