Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work 'Yo-semite Valley from the Mariposa Trail' by Charles Leander Weed was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in April last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 9,450.00 (€ 8,968.40). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Leander Weed achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Yosemite Valley And Big Tree Views in October 2012 with an auction result of USD 374,500.00 (€ 289,010.65).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit 'Yo-semite Valley from the Mariposa Trail' von Charles Leander Weed im April letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 9.450,00 (€ 8.968,40) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Leander Weed erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Yosemite Valley And Big Tree Views im Oktober 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 374.500,00 (€ 289.010,65).
