In May 2000 Christies in New York held the auction Nineteenth Century European Art, which included the work The Proposal by Charles-Joseph-Frédéric Soulacroix. The »bidding war« ended at USD 32,900.00 (€ 35,270.15), 37% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Charles-Joseph-Frédéric Soulacroix have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Three for tea in April 2000 with an auction result of GBP 201,750.00 (€ 345,387.83).

Im Mai 2000 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Nineteenth Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Proposal von Charles-Joseph-Frédéric Soulacroix zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 32.900,00 (€ 35.270,15) und damit 37% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles-Joseph-Frédéric Soulacroix auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Three for tea im April 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 201.750,00 (€ 345.387,83).
