This artwork by Charles Haslewood Shannon achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2017. In the Victorian Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art auction, the work Self-Portrait sold for GBP 18,750.00 (€ 21,100.38) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 10,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Haslewood Shannon - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Rose and Blanche (Les Marmitons), which sold at auction in February 2003 for GBP 53,775.00 (€ 78,509.80).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 88 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Charles Haslewood Shannon erzielte im Dezember 2017 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Victorian Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art wurde die Arbeit Self-Portrait für GBP 18.750,00 (€ 21.100,38) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 10.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Haslewood Shannon mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Rose and Blanche (Les Marmitons) beobachtet, die im Februar 2003 für GBP 53.775,00 (€ 78.509,80) versteigert wurde.
