Auction result well in line with expectations
The work White Heather rounding the stake boat off Hunters Quay, on the Clyde by Charles Edward Dixon was sold in the The Marine Sale auction at Bonhams in London in October last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 892.50 (€ 1,039.75) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Edward Dixon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work R.M.S. Titanic clearing the dockside at Southampton, 10th April, 1912 in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 19,200.00 (€ 28,254.10).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit White Heather rounding the stake boat off Hunters Quay, on the Clyde von Charles Edward Dixon wurde im Oktober letzten Jahres in der Auktion The Marine Sale bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 892,50 (€ 1.039,75) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Edward Dixon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit R.M.S. Titanic clearing the dockside at Southampton, 10th April, 1912 im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 19.200,00 (€ 28.254,10).
