In April this year Bonhams held the auction The Marine Sale, which included the work 'The Pool' with Tower Bridge beyond by Charles Edward Dixon. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,422.50 (€ 2,760.86), 62% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Edward Dixon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work R.M.S. Titanic clearing the dockside at Southampton, 10th April, 1912 in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 19,200.00 (€ 28,254.10).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 62 % übertroffen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion The Marine Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit 'The Pool' with Tower Bridge beyond von Charles Edward Dixon zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.422,50 (€ 2.760,86) und damit 62% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Edward Dixon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit R.M.S. Titanic clearing the dockside at Southampton, 10th April, 1912 im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 19.200,00 (€ 28.254,10).
