Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 'Off Southsea' by Charles Edward Dixon was auctioned at Bonhams in April this year. The price achieved of GBP 1,402.50 (€ 1,598.39) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Edward Dixon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work R.M.S. Titanic clearing the dockside at Southampton, 10th April, 1912 in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 19,200.00 (€ 28,254.10).
