Auction result misses estimated price range
In April this year a collector was able to acquire the work 'Southampton Water' by Charles Edward Dixon for GBP 1,147.50 (€ 1,307.78). This price was achieved in the auction The Marine Sale at Bonhams and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Edward Dixon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work R.M.S. Titanic clearing the dockside at Southampton, 10th April, 1912 in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 19,200.00 (€ 28,254.10).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit 'Southampton Water' von Charles Edward Dixon für GBP 1.147,50 (€ 1.307,78) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Marine Sale bei Bonhams erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Edward Dixon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit R.M.S. Titanic clearing the dockside at Southampton, 10th April, 1912 im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 19.200,00 (€ 28.254,10).
