Auction result well in line with expectations
The work HMS Victory at Portsmouth by Charles Edward Dixon was sold in the The Marine Sale auction at Bonhams in April this year. It changed hands for a price of GBP 4,972.50 (€ 5,667.03) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Charles Edward Dixon have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work R.M.S. Titanic clearing the dockside at Southampton, 10th April, 1912 in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 19,200.00 (€ 28,254.10).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit HMS Victory at Portsmouth von Charles Edward Dixon wurde im April diesen Jahres in der Auktion The Marine Sale bei Bonhams versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 4.972,50 (€ 5.667,03) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Edward Dixon auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit R.M.S. Titanic clearing the dockside at Southampton, 10th April, 1912 im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 19.200,00 (€ 28.254,10).
