Auction result well in line with expectations
In October last year Bonhams in London held the auction The Marine Sale, which included the work The Ark Royal amongst a large fleet by Charles Edward Dixon. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,147.50 (€ 1,336.82) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Edward Dixon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work R.M.S. Titanic clearing the dockside at Southampton, 10th April, 1912 in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 19,200.00 (€ 28,254.10).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion The Marine Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Ark Royal amongst a large fleet von Charles Edward Dixon zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.147,50 (€ 1.336,82) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Edward Dixon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit R.M.S. Titanic clearing the dockside at Southampton, 10th April, 1912 im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 19.200,00 (€ 28.254,10).
