Auction result well in line with expectations
The work HMS Victory engaging Santísima Trinidad at the Battle of Trafalgar by Charles Edward Dixon was auctioned at Bonhams in London in October last year. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,785.00 (€ 2,079.51) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Edward Dixon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work R.M.S. Titanic clearing the dockside at Southampton, 10th April, 1912 in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 19,200.00 (€ 28,254.10).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit HMS Victory engaging Santísima Trinidad at the Battle of Trafalgar von Charles Edward Dixon kam im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.785,00 (€ 2.079,51) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Edward Dixon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit R.M.S. Titanic clearing the dockside at Southampton, 10th April, 1912 im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 19.200,00 (€ 28.254,10).
