In March 2002 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work Near Braemar, Aberdeenshire by Charles Edward Brittan. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 998.75 (€ 1,632.69), 66% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Charles Edward Brittan; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Sheep grazing on the moors below low-lying clouds (illustrated); and Dusk, on the moors sold at auction in September 2005 with the realized price of GBP 1,560.00 (€ 2,289.41).

Im März 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Near Braemar, Aberdeenshire von Charles Edward Brittan zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 998,75 (€ 1.632,69) und damit 66% über dem oberen Schätzpreis.
