Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2003 Christies in London held the auction At Home - British and Continental Pictures & Works on Paper, which included the work A hound in a landscape; and A seated hound in a landscape by Charles Edward Brittan. The price achieved of GBP 258.50 (€ 336.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 200.00 – 400.00. Admittedly, works by Charles Edward Brittan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sheep grazing on the moors below low-lying clouds (illustrated); and Dusk, on the moors in September 2005 with an auction result of GBP 1,560.00 (€ 2,289.41).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 258,50 (€ 336,81) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 200,00 – 400,00 angegeben worden.
