In the British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings auction, the work A grey day, Dartmoor sold for GBP 705.00 (€ 1,138.27) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 350.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Edward Brittan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sheep grazing on the moors below low-lying clouds (illustrated); and Dusk, on the moors, which sold at auction in September 2005 for GBP 1,560.00 (€ 2,289.41).
