In November 2011 Christies in New York held the auction Important American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work In the Orchard by Charles Courtney Curran. The »bidding war« ended at USD 30,000.00 (€ 22,299.86), 20% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Courtney Curran achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ladies on a Hill in April 2002 with an auction result of USD 207,500.00 (€ 230,504.33).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2011 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Important American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit In the Orchard von Charles Courtney Curran zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 30.000,00 (€ 22.299,86) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Courtney Curran erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ladies on a Hill im April 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 207.500,00 (€ 230.504,33).
