Auction result well in line with expectations
The work British Landscape With Figures by Charles Conder was sold in the The Ken and Rona Eastaugh Collection auction at Sothebys in Melbourne in May 2009. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 31,200.00 (€ 17,654.08) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Conder achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work British the Fatal Colors in August 2008 with an auction result of AUD 702,000.00 (€ 409,791.12).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit British Landscape With Figures von Charles Conder wurde im Mai 2009 in der Auktion The Ken and Rona Eastaugh Collection bei Sothebys in Melbourne versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 31.200,00 (€ 17.654,08) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Conder erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit British the Fatal Colors im August 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 702.000,00 (€ 409.791,12).
