In May 2009 Sothebys in Melbourne held the auction The Ken and Rona Eastaugh Collection, which included the work British Blossoms, Chantemesle by Charles Conder. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 52,800.00 (€ 29,876.14), 32% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Conder achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work British the Fatal Colors in August 2008 with an auction result of AUD 702,000.00 (€ 409,791.12).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 32 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2009 führte Sothebys in Melbourne die Auktion The Ken and Rona Eastaugh Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit British Blossoms, Chantemesle von Charles Conder zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 52.800,00 (€ 29.876,14) und damit 32% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Conder erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit British the Fatal Colors im August 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 702.000,00 (€ 409.791,12).
