Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Target Blossom 1, 1941 by Ceri Richards was sold in the Modern & Post-War British Art Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in July 2020. It changed hands for a price of GBP 11,875.00 (€ 13,245.66) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ceri Richards achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Interior in June 2017 with an auction result of GBP 175,000.00 (€ 199,292.35).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Target Blossom 1, 1941 von Ceri Richards wurde im Juli 2020 in der Auktion Modern & Post-War British Art Day Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 11.875,00 (€ 13.245,66) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ceri Richards erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Interior im Juni 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 175.000,00 (€ 199.292,35).
