Auction result well in line with expectations
In March this year Bonhams held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work Untitled (Unframed) by Ceri Richards. The price achieved of GBP 1,785.00 (€ 2,030.78) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ceri Richards achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Interior in June 2017 with an auction result of GBP 175,000.00 (€ 199,292.35).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Unframed) von Ceri Richards zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.785,00 (€ 2.030,78) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ceri Richards erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Interior im Juni 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 175.000,00 (€ 199.292,35).
