In May last year Christies in London held the auction The Collection of Sir Nicholas Goodison - British Art: Innovation and Craftsmanship, which included the work Interior with Piano by Ceri Richards. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 13,860.00 (€ 16,304.97), 73% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ceri Richards achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Interior in June 2017 with an auction result of GBP 175,000.00 (€ 199,292.35).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 73 % übertroffen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion The Collection of Sir Nicholas Goodison - British Art: Innovation and Craftsmanship durch, in der auch die Arbeit Interior with Piano von Ceri Richards zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 13.860,00 (€ 16.304,97) und damit 73% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ceri Richards erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Interior im Juni 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 175.000,00 (€ 199.292,35).
