In October last year Bonhams in London held the auction Impressionist & Modern Art, which included the work Payasos españoles by Celso Lagar. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 12,750.00 (€ 14,853.61), 59% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Celso Lagar have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Hommage à Guynemer in November 2012 with an auction result of EUR 145,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 59 % übertroffen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Payasos españoles von Celso Lagar zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 12.750,00 (€ 14.853,61) und damit 59% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Celso Lagar auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Hommage à Guynemer im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 145.000,00.
