Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Carsten Höller could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in March 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the TO LIVE WITH ART: Property from the Jerome & Ellen Stern Collection auction, the work Braunes Beyer-Auge changed hands for USD 1,750.00 (€ 1,420.45) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Carsten Höller achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hippopotamus in February 2008 with an auction result of USD 198,000.00 (€ 130,374.66).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Carsten Höller konnte im März 2018 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion TO LIVE WITH ART: Property from the Jerome & Ellen Stern Collection wechselte die Arbeit Braunes Beyer-Auge für USD 1.750,00 (€ 1.420,45) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Carsten Höller erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hippopotamus im Februar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 198.000,00 (€ 130.374,66).
