This artwork by Carroll Cloar achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March 2003. In the Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work Good Friday sold for USD 16,730.00 (€ 15,348.62) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Carroll Cloar - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Lull In The Revolution, which sold at auction in May 2017 for USD 50,000.00 (€ 44,499.82).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Carroll Cloar erzielte im März 2003 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture wurde die Arbeit Good Friday für USD 16.730,00 (€ 15.348,62) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Carroll Cloar mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Lull In The Revolution beobachtet, die im Mai 2017 für USD 50.000,00 (€ 44.499,82) versteigert wurde.
