Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Blood Of The Maguey by Carroll Cloar was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 21,250.00 (€ 17,248.38) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Carroll Cloar - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Lull In The Revolution, which sold at auction in May 2017 for USD 50,000.00 (€ 44,499.82).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Blood Of The Maguey von Carroll Cloar kam im März 2018 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 21.250,00 (€ 17.248,38) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Carroll Cloar mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Lull In The Revolution beobachtet, die im Mai 2017 für USD 50.000,00 (€ 44.499,82) versteigert wurde.
