Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sin título by Carlos Mérida was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in June 2021. The price achieved of USD 22,680.00 (€ 19,142.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 18,000.00 – 25,000.00. Admittedly, works by Carlos Mérida have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work El Pequeño Venado in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 212,500.00 (€ 190,600.05).
