Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Carlos Mérida could be acquired at Christies in New York in March this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Latin American Art Online auction, the work Ubicuidad changed hands for USD 13,860.00 (€ 12,748.34) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 18,000.00 – 22,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Carlos Mérida achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work El Pequeño Venado in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 212,500.00 (€ 190,600.05).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Carlos Mérida konnte im März diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Latin American Art Online wechselte die Arbeit Ubicuidad für USD 13.860,00 (€ 12.748,34) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 18.000,00 – 22.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Carlos Mérida erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit El Pequeño Venado im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 212.500,00 (€ 190.600,05).
