Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Carlos Garaicoa could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in March 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the TO LIVE WITH ART: Property from the Jerome & Ellen Stern Collection auction, the work La Habitatición De Mi Negatividad (The Room Of My Negativity) changed hands for USD 18,750.00 (€ 15,219.16) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Carlos Garaicoa - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (from the series New Architectures), which sold at auction in September 2010 for USD 56,250.00 (€ 41,357.25).
