In March 2018 Sothebys in New York held the auction TO LIVE WITH ART: Property from the Jerome & Ellen Stern Collection, which included the work Declaration (Flat Iron: New York - Havana) by Carlos Garaicoa. The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,750.00 (€ 7,102.27), 46% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Carlos Garaicoa have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (from the series New Architectures) in September 2010 with an auction result of USD 56,250.00 (€ 41,357.25).

Im März 2018 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion TO LIVE WITH ART: Property from the Jerome & Ellen Stern Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Declaration (Flat Iron: New York - Havana) von Carlos Garaicoa zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 7.102,27) und damit 46% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Carlos Garaicoa auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (from the series New Architectures) im September 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 56.250,00 (€ 41.357,25).
