Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Two Works: (i) Kunst Werke. Berlín, Alemania No. 4; (ii) Botas by Carlos Amorales was auctioned at Phillips in New York in May 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 6,250.00 (€ 4,812.13). Admittedly, works by Carlos Amorales have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Horny Ghost in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 52,500.00 (€ 46,724.81).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Two Works: (i) Kunst Werke. Berlín, Alemania No. 4; (ii) Botas von Carlos Amorales im Mai 2013 bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 6.250,00 (€ 4.812,13) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Carlos Amorales auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Horny Ghost im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 52.500,00 (€ 46.724,81).
