A top price for Carlos Amorales - as previously expected
In May 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction Latin America: Contemporary Art Evening Sale, which included the work The Horny Ghost by Carlos Amorales. The price achieved of USD 52,500.00 (€ 46,724.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, The Horny Ghost is the most expensive artwork by Carlos Amorales that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im Mai 2017 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Latin America: Contemporary Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Horny Ghost von Carlos Amorales zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 52.500,00 (€ 46.724,81) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist The Horny Ghost das teuerste Kunstwerk von Carlos Amorales, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
