In May 2011 Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Sale, which included the work Oyá by Carlos Alfonzo. The auction ended at the price of USD 20,000.00 (€ 13,912.08), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Carlos Alfonzo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Water Seeds in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 350,000.00 (€ 313,929.50).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Mai 2011 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Latin American Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Oyá von Carlos Alfonzo zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 20.000,00 (€ 13.912,08) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Carlos Alfonzo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Water Seeds im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 350.000,00 (€ 313.929,50).
