This artwork by Carlos Alfonzo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March this year. In the Latin American Art Online auction, the work Loaf sold for USD 119,700.00 (€ 110,099.34) - well above the upper estimate of USD 40,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Carlos Alfonzo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Water Seeds, which sold at auction in May 2019 for USD 350,000.00 (€ 313,929.50).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Carlos Alfonzo erzielte im März diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Latin American Art Online wurde die Arbeit Loaf für USD 119.700,00 (€ 110.099,34) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 40.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Carlos Alfonzo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Water Seeds beobachtet, die im Mai 2019 für USD 350.000,00 (€ 313.929,50) versteigert wurde.
