Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Memento Mori No. 1 by Carlos Alfonzo was auctioned at Christies in New York in March last year. It achieved a price of USD 47,880.00 (€ 43,162.35), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 20%. Admittedly, works by Carlos Alfonzo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Water Seeds in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 350,000.00 (€ 313,929.50).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Memento Mori No. 1 von Carlos Alfonzo kam im März letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 47.880,00 (€ 43.162,35) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 20%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Carlos Alfonzo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Water Seeds im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 350.000,00 (€ 313.929,50).
