It achieved a price of USD 43,750.00 (€ 33,684.94), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 46%. Admittedly, works by Carlos Alfonzo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Water Seeds in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 350,000.00 (€ 313,929.50).

Die Arbeit Artist and The Genie von Carlos Alfonzo kam im Mai 2013 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 33.684,94) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 46%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Carlos Alfonzo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Water Seeds im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 350.000,00 (€ 313.929,50).
